Tonight, Tonight. Won't Be Just Any Night
The response from the first night of SONDHEIM IN SEPTEMBER was truly overwhelming. The wonderful thing about having a website like this is the mass of emails we have received from our audience. Reviews will be out soon and they are lovely to read, but what greater encouragement than the heartfelt opinions of our audience (and the repeat bookings) DO NOT DELAY. BOOK NOW for the final two nights.
Here's what our 1st night audience had to say:
"I attend the theatre a great deal but seldom experience the exhilarating high you provided."
"Each number was worth the price of admission alone - collectively, it was a feast of incredible talent and superb showcases for Sondheim gems. I was blown away. "
"The Performance I saw last night rated 4 stars out of 5 with a cast of over 50 on stage. A super evening and a worthy cause." Michael Englebert / The New AM 740©
"...cast perfectly...captivating to watch, I did not want to look away, ...truly epic …captured the depth and nuance of Sondheim’s words and music."
"Janna Polzin lit up the stage with her bright, captivating eyes, but also managed to use supreme diction and infuse so much emotion and subtlety to a song that is sung at forty-five words per minute. Warren Kimmel and Megan Nuttall performed a brilliant rendition of “Barcelona,” both with strong, clear, characterizations. Blythe Wilson was bliss singing “Another Hundred People” and Denise Oucharek showed off her particularly gorgeous soprano voice singing part of “Getting Married Today.” And of course, Susan Henley, who can delight an audience with a single glance, brought the house down with “Ladies Who Lunch.” She had all the gusto and brazen, sardonic candor as Elaine Strich, but I appreciated that she infused the material with her own terpretations as well."
" I just wanted to write and tell you what a thrilling evening it was tonight! Bravo, Bravo and Mazal Tov!"
"You and your huge, and hugely impressive, ensemble sang [the songs] exquisitely! The friend I was with, who, like me, adores great musical theatre and Sondheim in particular, said the evening far surpassed her expectations ... as it did mine! I didn't really know quite what to expect, but what you did "up there" was remarkable and moving, and poignant and humourous, and rather stunning"
"Kudos to you all. It was a breathtaking evening! (Indeed, I laughed, I cried ...)"
"Sondheim in September may be Canada’s equivalent to Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall :Dynamic, successful, strong, talented, and unique both individually and as a collective."
